Happy Friday y'all! I might be a tad MIA for a couple days since I have finals on Monday and Tuesday...so don't forget about me! So far my methods of procrastination have included painting my nails, cleaning my baseboards, and making four dozen cupcakes and muffins....so blogging may be next. (At least that doesn't have any calories or require any physical labor.) Oh yeah, did I mention that my finals will be my last exams ever before I get my masters? I will be DONE! Wish me luck!
Vintage Inspirations: Scarves
{Audrey and Jackie O: Classic Scarf Fashion}
I love a good vintage find. Lately I have found some priceless diamonds in the rough during my vintage shop browsing. In particular, I am obsessed with the 1960's and 1970's vintage scarves I have found. Scarves are classic accessories that can be used in a number of ways. Tying a colorful scarf on your handbag will create a personal and trendy look. Bad hair day? A beautifully patterned scarf will distract from your bed head.

Dream Job: Jenna Lyons
{Jenna displays her amazing shoe collection}
Traveling the world for inspiration and creating glamorous wearable fashion is all in a day's work for J. Crew's Executive Creative Director, Jenna Lyons. Oprah featured the modelesque creatista on her Dream Job show today. This week, I will post four looks inspired by Jenna's top tips for style success that she discussed on the show.

Side note: If anyone can figure out who makes Jenna's super chic distressed sequined harem-esque pants I would greatly appreciate it. (And buy them for me. Please and thank you.)

The Fabric of our Lives
This is Not a Joke
In the middle of a hopeless search for a Brita water filter in a Super Wal-Mart the size of Cowboys Stadium, I happened to find myself in...dare I say...the clothing section. I am a sucker for anything soft, slouchy, and pocket-bearing and happened upon just that. I hesitantly reached for the tag. Eight. Dollars. I was intrigued.
The soft tee I found (and purchased, no judging) is actually from the line Miley Cyrus designed in partnership with BCBG mastermind, Max Azria. Though there were some pieces surrounding my diamond-in-the-rough-pocket-tee that left much to be desired, the line includes other brow-furrowing surprise gems. Here is a look I created around my new favorite tee that I plan on purchasing in every color. (Again, no judging.) Way to go Wally World. Way. To. Go.

Nerd Alert
It is no secret that I am a dork at heart. I love technology and read tech blogs almost as much as I read fashion blogs. Naturally, when the Flip HD mini video camera came out...I had to have one to call my own! Thankfully, I dismissed my urge to impulse buy because I knew there would be a bigger and better model released soon after. After much consideration and research, I decided against the Flip and opted for the rugged, feature-filled Kodak PlaySport. (Well, my nice parents bought me it for my birthday...thanks Mom and Dad!)
Since I am a little rough on my tech toys, I knew the waterproof camera was the only choice for me. Also, the PlaySport does not have in internal memory and instead uses memory cards. I preferred this option because I won't be limited with storage. I also found an adorable Acme Made case to protect my new toy. I can not wait to start filming every moment this summer! Any ideas for my first vlog???
Coachella Envy
There are three days left for Californians and shoeless hippies alike to throw their macrame sacks over their shoulders and head to the desert setting of Indio, California for Coachella 2010. Coachella is a multi-genre music festival that has featured headliners such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beastie Boys, and Madonna since the dawn of the new millennium. (If you say it like that it sounds like a really long time, huh?)
Sadly, I will be forced to listen closely to the western winds if I want hear any Jay-Z, Wale, or Imogen Heap from a source other than my iPod since I will be stuck studying for finals in the FLA. If I could go to Coachella 2010...here are some Free People looks I'd love to rock.
Candy Cigarettes are so 1998
Hello Kitty wine is so 2010. (As if the modern day youngster does not have enough potential "Intervention" caliber vices to lure them off the straight and narrow...) The curious cartoon cat is now peddling four Italian-made spirits to children ages 8 to 16 legal drinking age adults with an affinity for pink, booze, and overpriced tchochkes covered in cartoons. As if Wendy Williams' show isn't making you say "What is this world coming to?!?" enough...
(I still want a bottle. Darn cat.)

Anglophiles Unite
Alright, I have officially lost it. I watched an HSN special for an hour as if it was an episode of a real television show. Was I enthralled by the allure of a new state-of-the-art bird feeder? A complete set of every Rachel Ray cookbook ever published? No no friends! I was sucked in by one of the most iconic beauties of all time. Twiggy.
Twiggy has teamed up with HSN to create a jolly good new line that caters to both young and old. (Mostly old judging by the oodles of callers I listened to throughout the hour long program. At one point I actually had anxiety that all the grandmas were going to grab all the goods before me. Seriously, I need help.) There are a couple of the usual meemaw-friendly pieces that are present in most every home shopping collection but there are also some true treasures. My faves can take you all the way from foggy London town to your local Wal-Mart.
I can not wait to get my Twig-tastic picks in the mail. I chose the navy Union Jack tote (way better looking on TV), white aviators, and the pink and orange colorblock top (that I fully plan on wearing as a dress, don't judge). Needless to say I completely understand why these channels persist through the years. By the end of that hour I wanted it all!
It's My Birthday
Instead of taking a test, giving a presentation, and being sick...I will pretend I am doing this. Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!!! I am so blessed to have the most wonderful family and friends!
Hoppy Easter
Hoppy Easter PEEPS! (Get it? Like the marshmallows? And bunnies? Ok again with the holiday puns, I know.) AND a very happy Passover to all my matzo-munching friends.
